The Mask

Ever take a personality test, always wondering who you are and in hopes that some one might actually be right?  Feeling lost within a human shell, asking others what they thought of you and who you are. Nobody can ever tell you who you are and where your life will lead. They may be right about certain things but they never hit the dot. We discover ourselves through years of life and we transform as we progress never staying the same. We will carry certain traits throughout the years, and others will appear along the way. Some characteristic will leave you, mainly most of your defaults because you learned from them but some may stay and some will come.

If you have taken a personality test you would notice how alot of the times they are very particular but yet broad. It’s hard not to because hey were all curious! My result said I was an inspirer, that I was very creative, bright, happy, energetic, gained my energy by those around me, a comforter and some other stuff.  If you know me it suits me quite well, but really there are many defaults to just that. Nobody is always happy, energetic, and ALWAYS created, and we can’t always be the comforter because we need comforting too. Really everybody has these qualities in them even if they don’t realize it or not, we all have our times when we are these and then run into a dead end. I found myself in almost all the traits in the quiz, some more than others. And sometimes I express them at different times and places, like everybody else.  When you take a personality test they aren’t really aiming to say “this is you” because since everybody is different and there is soo many different results we sometimes don’t fit. In my class people said they were almost completely different then what the thing said.

Nothing can define us but our actions, we can’t say we are something and not be it. That doesn’t make you it, it just makes you a hypocrite and a liar. We can pretend we are something were not and eventually become that but are you really willing to lose yourself int he mix. Is it that really worth it to be something we weren’t born to be. Sometimes hiding our true tallents because they not be the coolest, well really your hurting nobody but yourself. We put up masks all the time, each and everyone of us, but we need to decide when are we going to take off that mask. We want to figure out who we are, how ’bout we let ourselves be ourself.  If we want proof to the truth of who we are, look at what you’ve done, how you felt about certain things. Nobody can tell you who you are, only one person really knows who you are that is God. He knows us better than anybody else. He knows us better than ourselves.

Psalms 139:
You have searched me, LORD,
and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
Before a word is on my tongue
you, LORD, know it completely.

You hem me in behind and before,
and you lay your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.

Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.
If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me
and the light become night around me,”
even the darkness will not be dark to you;
the night will shine like the day,
for darkness is as light to you.

For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
How precious to me are your thoughts God!
How vast is the sum of them!
Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand—
when I awake, I am still with you.

If only you, God, would slay the wicked!
Away from me, you who are bloodthirsty!
They speak of you with evil intent;
your adversaries misuse your name.
Do I not hate those who hate you, LORD,
and abhor those who are in rebellion against you?
I have nothing but hatred for them;
I count them my enemies.
Search me, God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.

God sees us for who we are, this verse says what we are. It’s all true.

You can be anything you want to be, you don’t have any rules to particuarly follow…

You can make your own.

  1. this kind of relates to the phantom of the opera
    GOD sees us for who we are without anything to make us look differently

  2. I wasn’t going for that but yeah, it kind of does.
