Recently during my computers options we are supposed to be creating movie posters about movies that we all came up with and weren’t allowed to pick our own movie. Then one of the kids said in my class “What is a movie without violence and guns?” This got me thinking. Why do we all find joy in watching people being killed in a movie? Many of you are probably already thinking “It’s just a movie” but those movies effect us. Even if they are “Just a movie” I have put something on me that I may watch a movie rated A14 depending on what it’s about and nothing hirer than that. I almost feel like some of us if we watched a movie about someone being killed in real life then we wouldn’t react or think nearly as much about is as we should. I think the same with movies with magic in them. In the Bible it says to not have anything to do with magic. Whether that magic is being used for “good” in the movie or evil then either way it is evil. It says that all magic is from the devil no matter what it is used for. God does not use magic. Yes that means I am saying Lord of the rings and Harry Potter is bad. I bet lots of you are going to disagree with me. Thinking the exact thing in the last phrase “We aren’t actually doing it” but you are watching it and if you look up some of the words they say and their meanings some of them mean horrific things. Yes some of them are the literal meaning like to heal something. Also I would put this question at you. If you aren’t sure why would you even open the door anyway? If you are unsure then why open the door cause you never know what can come through that. I encourage you to try and lay these things aside.
“Do not turn to mediums or necromancers; do not seek them out, and so make yourselves unclean by them: I am the Lord your God.”
1 John 4:1
“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.”
“See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.”
