I was inspired to write about this by my pastor in my class.
Sacred space – A space or time that is open to feeling and hearing God, when you take the time to stop and breathe and be filled with wonder.
When I walked into the cafe, where this session I was exhausted and not emotionally ready for something like this. Yet when I got there and sat down my pastor/bible teacher smiled warmly at me whispering “welcome” it gave me well, a welcoming comfortable first impression of the space. He then gave me some paper and a bible quietly whispering what we were doing. I turned to the verse Luke 13: 6-9 which says..
“A man had a fig tree growing in his vineyard, and he went to look for fruit on it but did not find any. 7 So he said to the man who took care of the vineyard, ‘For three years now I’ve been coming to look for fruit on this fig tree and haven’t found any. Cut it down! Why should it use up the soil?’
8 “‘Sir,’ the man replied, ‘leave it alone for one more year, and I’ll dig around it and fertilize it. 9 If it bears fruit next year, fine! If not, then cut it down.’”
” cut it down ” translated means It is finished..In the Bible, it is finished is said more than once, it is said here and also when Jesus is on the cross dying for us…for you,for me for the whole world! Isn’t that just…wonderful and amazing?! The most perfect human being that ever stepped foot on the earth died for all of us! Jesus said ” It is finished” because when he took his last breathe step 1 of God’s plan was finally done, step 2..well that’s still in process…it’s coming…maybe not today..or 2 weeks from now…maybe not even 3000 years from now, but its coming. What’s step 2? Jesus’s return.
So like I said before God’s plan is nearly finished, but the work in you and me is far from done.God has some much in store for you and me and everyone!so..
If it is in your favour to cut my tree down, then let it be finished, but if it is not the bare my fruit.
