You know that feeling, on Sunday night. When you don’t want to go to bed, because, you have to wake up in the morning to go to your job/ school etc. That feeling of sadness that the weekend is over.
Finally, when you wake up in the morning, on Monday, struggling to get out of bed. You try to find every reason, and every excuse to just stay there in bed. Lying, wanting to go back to sleep. Sometimes, you do fall back asleep, but yet again are woken up by an alarm or a family member or a friend.
I know sometimes you get this feeling every night, but, we have to push through it as; we are blessed that every single day we wake up, we get to experience another beautiful day. Everyday we see new things. You don’t think about it but if you did not wake up you would not have seen that amazing sight.
1 Corinthians 2:14
“The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.”
To me this is very relatable to waking up in the morning because, if we wake up without the spirit we do not accept the fact that we actually woke up, that we are living. We do not accept that we need to go outside, to work, we need to wake up to see what we are missing. The beautiful sights, the incredible acts of kindness. Those who do not wake up, both physical and mentally, do not discern themselves. Those who do wake up and face the day. Even though the day may not be amazing and perfect, they understand themselves. They want to accept the little things that come from God. They are growing in the faith of others and themselves because they experience the little things, in which the people who stayed asleep have never experienced.
Don’t get me wrong, it is okay to “stay asleep” sometimes. But, we have to get ourselves out there. Get out of our comfort zone. Experience things you have never experience. But, being awoken again, that is an amazing feeling. You get to go out, live life. God can show you the things that you might need to see. He wants to make you feel beautiful in your own skin. He wants you to feel like you are pulled to one thing or another. He loves us and knows what is best for us and our personality.
So on Monday, or any day, wake up. See the things that God has given us. The new things in life. The things that define us.
He’s calling us to wake up. To be fully alive.
