M10 Encouragement

Dear parents: Your prayers are most welcome. This is the beautiful community of Skid Row. Although GOOD magazine has a certain spin on Skid Row, this is often what we get to experience because of the Spirit of God.

About Shaun

Most comfortable with people shorter than him, Shaun is able to leap over smaller people, medium-sized playground equipment and little barking dogs in a single bound. He is the proud daddy of a loud daughter named Kaelyn, a surfer kid named Joshua, and a bobblehead boy named Micah. He is married to an incredible teammate named Michelle. As a religious education teacher and Campus Pastor, Shaun desires to build community and discussion within the emerging generations. He is deeply passionate about digging for the 'real', and loves being around people who strive for authenticity. Shaun also happens to think that the phrase "bok choy" is possibly the most hilarious combination of words in the history of humanity.

  5. M10,
Some of you may know me, some of you may have not, but all of you have probably seen me around.
So as much as it may be weird to hear encouragement from a complete stranger, hear me out.
You are on this trip for a reason. Ignore everything else that other people say. Ignore your doubtful questions of “why was I chosen?” And “Why am I here?” Rather, ask yourself “what can I do?” And “What has God planned for me?”
Remember who you are, remember where you are, and remember who God is. He is always there, He is always with you.
Meet people. See people. Love people.
Meet God. See God. Love God.
It’s ok to question, but know that God already holds all of the answers.
I’m praying daily for you all.

  6. Mike and Sonia K

  8. “All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.” Gandalf
You guys are amazing you chose to spend your time serving others. Jesus is smiling.

  9. Look up at the Palm trees and remember the day of Jesus riding in on the donkey.
You are serving Him and He is love his overflowing. How proud He is today on His donkey seeing so many young men and women caring for His children who are lost and alone at risk.
He died so we may live forever! Jesus lives through YOUR words, YOUR love and your kindness.
I am so proud of you Aaron. I am praying and thinking of you every minute.
Thank you Shawn for preparing the Youth’s hearts and minds
