Home / 01 - spirituality / Deception

I haven’t been on here in while, and I’m really missing writing.

Truth be told we are sinners. No matter how much you deny it.

We all get lost in it, and finally when we get caught, we sin again.

We begin to forget the punishment that comes with it. No matter how hard you try, it comes back to you. It haunts you. Most of all, the devil feeds on it. Constantly telling you “It doesn’t matter” and “Don’t worry about the lies”. In all this we stray. We stray from God.

Recently I told a lie to someone in my family. I ignored it for a very long time. It kept coming back into my life. It kept creeping in through every situation that occurred. This past week, it finally came out. Why did I lie? I honestly have no explanation.

Not only did I deceive one person, but almost my whole family. I disobeyed by parents, and my relationship with them, and my sister is struggling. A lot of teenagers my age struggle with this.

Rebelling against your family is “cool,” right?

The bible talks A LOT about honouring your parents. A LOT of us ignore it.

Ephesians 6: 1-3

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.”

Colossians 3: 20

Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.

These verses tend to just fly right over us. We cannot ignore them. We cannot let Satan in.

So to everyone reading this. No matter your age. Obey, and honour your parents. Do not lie, and if you do, apologize, and ask the Lord for forgiveness. Relationships can, and will be mended, and your life will feel about 10 million times less stressful.

Remember, God WILL forgive you. No matter what the circumstances.

I hope you all have a good Christmas full of joy, family, and compassion.  Most of all, do not forget the reason for the season.

I hope this speaks throughout your life.
