The Worth of Why

Life can be so depressing. And whenever you want to talk about it there are only ever 3 responses: those who get mad at you for thinking these thoughts, those who desperately try to get you to go see someone. But then you get the rare person who actually seems to care. Those are the people that you need.

And I know that feeling. The feeling of being worthless. The feeling of being trapped, that no one cares. The feeling of depression. I have been there. And it is not fun, to say the least. The feeling that no one cares, and that you don’t want to burden them with your problems.

But this is just not true. Suicide: the way I see it, it doesn’t take the burden away, it multiplies it. If your best friend kills themself, the burden that it puts on you, your friends’ family, all of their friends; they all get the same weight on their shoulders that you just had. But now it has just been transferred to other people. Now talking about it: that removes the burden from existence. When you talk about it to a friend, family member, teacher, anyone that really cares, they help.

No one who loves you will ever try to hurt you intentionally. They only want to help you.

Jeremiah 29:11 says “For I know the plans I have for you” declares the LORD. “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Everyone has a future in God, and you are loved and respected by more people than I would ever be able to count. So don’t give up yet.
