Hey you. Yeah. You.
Who you are
is not based upon earthly measures
How much you’re worth
Should not be determined by simple things
Because you are
A intricate working of flesh and spirit and mistakes and soul and life and death and emotion and physicality and rest and energy and light and darkness. A simplistic complexity. A finite infinite. A paradox.
You’ll be alright.
Even when the world threatens to crush you.
There will always be light.
As the sun rises each day
so do you
What mistakes you’ve made
And even if you don’t forgive yourself.
You are not a terrible person.
You’re a hurt person.
You’re also a bright and smart and incredible person.
Your talents are like none the world has ever seen.
Your physical self, a perfectly molded you.
Don’t offend yourself
by limiting your worth to a thing
You’re so much more than a grade, an object, a gender, a colour.
Most days life hits you hard
and you buckle under pressure
and you’re not allowed to cry
But don’t judge yourself if you’re feeling down.
Your experience is valid
feel as you were designed to feel.
Nobody like you has ever existed
and nobody like you will ever exist again
You’re the only universe of your kind.
And you exist in a place only you can exist.
You were made for the hardships offered to you.
And you were made to overcome them.
Only you can do that.
And even in that darkness
know that there is light
there is a future
there is hell
and there is heaven
there’s the things in between
all right here.
And what a miracle you are.
